We are heading back to our home today after a long time away. We were fortunate enough to get time away for Halloween and Election Night "08. We must get back to business. There is Donoso to learn, kids to play guitar with, Toa to eat, monkeys to see, and a world to change.
We love you all. Keep checking our blog and commenting. It keeps us going and motivated.
This is our pie chart that is hanging in our house, which also keeps us going. It is sectioned out by month so we can color in each month as we go. We get to color in our 4th month when we return home. Yeah for us! Headed into month 5...
I hope that you were able to do some "trick or treating". Of course you would probably not get a bag full of candy bars, sweet tarts and candy corn. What would you have instead? Millet cakes?

Hi Joe and Ashley,
ReplyDeleteBen and I handed out candy this year it was fun. Ben's mom stopped over that night and helped. Next year Anna can go to a few houses, that will be cute.
The chart on your door is neat. love you both

I love ya'll! and miss you more! I can't wait until that whole thing is colored in and you are home! :-)
ReplyDeleteI don't see near enough color on that pie chart!
ReplyDeleteLove the video of Joe playing and the kids dancing. What an experience you're getting and what an experience they are getting!
We're getting together a box to send you. Hope it contains all the "wright stuff"!

The pie chart is great! I've been thinking about all you've done and accomplished in the 5 months since you arrived in Africa. Truly, you both should be so proud of yourselves, as I know everyone is. The culture you describe is fascinating and all of the languages spoken. Fun to hear about your 'monkey' sitiings ;)
ReplyDeleteThoughts and prayers for you...Judy
Oh kids. We love you! Your pie chart is adorable. Are you sure more shouldn't be colored in? It feels like you've been gone forever. We love the video of Joe playing for the kiddos. Awesome. Smash... you smashed up your bike? Oh no. Glad ot hear you are ok.
