  1. Ashley, I have a question in regard to the fourth picture. When did my 9th grade math/science teacher Mr. Haverdink join you on this trip and what happened to Joe?

By the way I have been to Morocco and I think that you are crazy going there with no plan. The only thing that I would recommend is that you make sure that you drink some of the tea. It has fresh mint leaves in the hot water. Yummy!

    Leaving the dream in Portugal.

  2. Joe, you got problems, you need to get your hair cut in Europe! You are representing all of America with that hair.

  4. I meant "Living the Dream in Portugal" and not "leaving". Don't worry I don't think it was prophetic.

  5. hi ashley & joe, you two are something else, by that i mean, by helping to get "God and Our Lord' put back into the flag certificate, given by you to grandpa's 81st birthday and many others that receive such a great honor. we want to thank you again for the flag etc. i have been a little slow writing to you but we have so busy down here, getting ready for all the winter texans again this fall. sounds like it is starting to get a little cold at home. your dad got back from his nice vacation and is back to the real world working grandpa's calves. he said it had been raining all week. i enjoy your blog so so much. i check it every morning, it is always so interesting. joe you are so handsome whatever way you wear your hair. the pizza with the egg didn't look so great to me. ashley, i am so happy , you sound like your are enjoying all your experiences and don't sound homesick anymore, it is such a great experience for you guys, i'm sure you are keeping a diary of your travels and some day your can share it with your family. we sure did enjoy our weekend with aubrey and clint, they are a great couple too. we are going to s.c. a week from sat. makayla had her 2 year old birthday last week and mackenzie the week before. did i tell you annmarie and jeremiah are going to have a baby in may? i will e-mail you later. put all your travels in "God"s" hands. we love you both, grandma & grandpa

  6. Who cares about the hair...but Joe, the beard! Dude, use the scissors there.

(The architect of the cap changed his rules! We had a press conference yesterday and presented a corrected certificate to some random boy scout. Wish you were here!)

  8. I vote for a trim, a shorter version of Cool Joe. The hat makes you look really redneck, especially with that beard. But, you guys know I'm all about the rednecks. Ash would just need to sling a baby over her hip and walk around barefoot!

  9. Is it too late to vote? We would like to see Joe shave it off, and keep the ragged beard. Craig does not want you to trim that beard. And if you need to keep the hair...comb over, all the way... again, with the ragged beard.

  12. You should just shave it off, Joe. It would be so much easier, and it will always grow back. Wish we were with you!

I'm sure that Ryan would vote for the comb-over.

  15. i do vote for the comb-over. my wife knows me so well.

also, grow grow grow the beard. there are only so many times in a man's life that he can let it all go. (for me, it's been about 10 straight years with no end in sight, but for most men, well...)
