Livin' like Hippies

Life on the Road:

Our laundry is long past over due- joe has turned his underware inside out, not once, but twice

we go days without showering

and we have no home,

BUT are enjoying every bit of it.

Here are a few pictures of our time in Bucharest, Romania:
The first picture is of me sleeping in the 6 person train car on our way here. Why joe wanted to post it, I dont know. Tonight when we leave for Prauge we are going to stay in a two person train car, so we will have it all to ourselves.

The second picutre is of "The Peoples House,"( a bit ironic) the dictator that I mentioned in the previous blog built it. It is the second biggest building in the world, right behind the Pentagon. Now it is used for Parliment.

And the thrid picutre is of our hosts. Irina made us a tradational Romanian meal, polenta and cheese. yummy.

  1. i thought you said the sleeping car was close and crowded, it looks pretty cozy and comfortable, and ashley you look so cute, snug as a bug in a rug.

  2. I love the progression of train cars. First, overnighter in the section with chairs. (Can they smoke in the trains? Jenn freaked out once on someone for smoking in the train car that we were in.) Second, 6-person sleeper. I am guessing that it must have been pretty bad if you are now moving to the 2-person car. I'm not sure that Jenn and I ever washed our clothes in a real washer and dryer on our trip. But that was only 3 weeks, not 4 months. It was always the sink and drying them on the radiators.

    Later.

  3. Ok, I have read all of your blogs and I have not seen any references to racing, preforming or show pigeons. I guess you two missed my many lectures on the importance of Europe as the foundation for the pigeon fancy. Anyways, I look forward to seeing further posts with pigeons! LOL Have fun!

  4. You guys are living the dream!!
Don't worry, back at home the government is still passing legislation that changes lives and helps people.
We sure miss you, I'm glad you're surviving being homeless in Europe. Remember, when your clothes get too dirty you can always throw them away and just buy new ones.
